Hair bows/headbands

I am trying my hand at making headbands and hairbows for my daughter and I to wear. The headbands are pretty easy to make you just need some frabic and a sewing machine. The hairbows on the other hand are a lot harder if you are not a person who likes to take their time at doing something. I found the headband tutorial on pinterest and our daugther has been wanting to wear heandbands. which is fine with me considering it is a quick and easy way for me to get her hair out of her face. Well tonight I finally made my first headband, thanks to the tutorial on pinterest that i can no longer find. so here is the headband that I made and I will make many more and come up with a tutorial for the headbands if there is a need for one. yes the headband is gator colors, cause my husband is a big fan. My side of the family is a seminole fan, so I made a gator one for our daughter to wear the day of the florida and florida state game.

I made this gator headband it is reservible so the top is blue and the bottom is orange or you can change it where the top is orange and the bottom is blue

the hairbow tutorial on SupermomvsMe this is my hair clip i made for my daughter to wear with one of dresses that has these colors all over i proably should put like a button or flower in the center of the hair clip, but now she can wear with in her hair or on her dress where ever she wants to put it. yay now go make you some and be sure to post photos i would love to see what you come up with.

MCADD, Food changes and reciepes

I love food, and since we have learned that our son and maybe our daughter have MCADD. For the people who do not know what that is, it is a disorder where people who have it their bodies cannot break down certain fatty porteins. So since my kids have this, it means that they cannot have any processed food, which means i have make everything from scratch including there lunches for school. So for a little while I will posting pictures of the stuff I cook and post the reciepe for them so incase anyone esle wanna makes them for their family.

So here is first reciepe:

This is a Healthy Baked Chicken Nuggets. The whole reason they are healthy because instead of the chicken nuggets being fried they are baked in the oven.

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz (2 large) skinless boneless chicken breasts, cut into even bit sized pieces
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 6 tbsp whole wheat Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp panko
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil spray

Directions:
Preheat oven to 425. spray the baking sheet with the olive oil. Put olive oil in a large bowl, then the breadcrumbs, panko, parmesan cheese in another. cut the chicken into little bites and season with salt and pepper. Once you do that you can put three bites in the olive oil at a time, once in the  olive oil put the bites in the bowl with the breadcrumb mixture. then place onto the baking sheet, lightly spray the top of them with olive oil spray then bake 8-10 minutes. turn over then cook for another 4-5 minutes.

My husband and my son loves these and ask for them all the time. It is so great. My husband says that I am becoming a perfectly good house wife.

homemade bookends

I found this on marthasewart.com...it is making magizine holders out of ceral boxes. It was a very neat idea, and since I was putting a shelf in my son's room for his books I decided to make me some bookends to hold all his books on the shelf. Here is what they look like:
yes I know that you may think that they are not going to strong enough to hold books up but they actually do. I put some Mod Podge on the ceral boxes that I made. yes I know what you are thinking she made Mod Podge? but I did and it actually worked out great. My son loves his new bookends although he isn't even old enough to tell me himself but I know his does. After putting the Mod Podge on I covered the boxes with a silly scrapbook  paper that I had laying around. Its great.

Organizing the house

So right now, I am in the mood to get my house clean and decluttered but there is so much stuff that I am just compeletly overwhelmed by it, but I love Pinterest and while I was on there I found a lot of organizing and cleaning sites, and I have finally settled down to clean my house.....I will compelete on room a day and once that room is cleaned I have to keep it clean which means the next day means I will be cleaning two rooms and so fourth until I am done to where I have to clean the entire house everyday and not really have much to worry about. I love the idea, and I must give credit to my husband for thinking about it and suggesting it to me, but it will be difficult considering school is starting up again and i will have homework and class that will need my attention as well, but I will push forward. If you want to try one of the organizing and cleaning sites here is a great one to start out with Flylady.

Ribbion wreath

I wanted to make a ribbion wreath like the ones I saw on pinterest, so I finally did it....
here are instructions on how I made it....
what you need:
duct tape
1 6ft 3/4 pvc pipe protector tube
2 15 ft ribbions to wrap the wreath with
4 15ft ribbion of different colors to decorate the wreath with
hot glue gun

Instructions:
cut the 6ft tube in half and tape the two ends together so it makes a circle like this....
once you have the wreath in place take the 2 15ft ribbion of the same color and hot glue on end to start then wrap the rest of the ribbion around the wreath so it is covered in ribbion....
then take the 4 ribbions that you have in different colors and cut them 4inches long. once they are all cut hot glue one end and fold the ribbion in half and then hot glue it to wreath. repeat for all the ribbion you may need to do this three or four times around the wreath, then you are finished

I also made a gator wreath for my friend kim who loves the gator and it was her birthday.

Love Quilting

So on Oct. 8th the town my family lives in just had a quilttoberfest. I wanted to go so I went while the kids were taking a nap and my hubsand could stay home and watch them. While I was there I saw tons of beautiful quilts and I have been working on just a random quilt with all these quilt scraps that a lady at my grandmother's church has sent to me. I have been working on the quilt for over a year now and I am no where near done with the quilt, but since going and looking at the other beautiful quilts I want to start getting back into quilting and hopefully finish the quilt so I can give it to someone in my family for chirstmas. So what is it that has got your inspirations into doing some stuff that you have been wanting to do or get done.

Diaper covers

So recently I have came across this site that had a pattern for diaper covers and I need some bloomers for my little girl since she was no longer in diapers and the school she goes to requires her to wear shorts under her dresses. so instead of going out to the store and buying a large amount of shorts I choose to make her some bloomers to match the dresses that I have been making her. I know you are probably wondering how i did this. Well instead of using a pattern me and my grandmother grabbed a pair of her underwear and used that as our pattern. we cut the front a little lower so we could tell which was the front and the back. But for the pattern and the directions that I got my inspiration from visit cyatutorials

my daughter showing off her bloomers that should have been a lil longer....
